JACKSON, Miss. (April 29, 2026) — Arlington Development has officially broken ground on Flats at Fondren, a new multifamily development in Jackson’s vibrant Fondren neighborhood. The project marks Arlington’s fourth investment in the Jackson market, building on a strong track record of successful developments in the area.

Strategically located in one of Jackson’s most dynamic districts, Flats at Fondren will offer residents walkable access to a wide range of local amenities, including restaurants, bars, retail, and everyday conveniences such as grocery and drug stores. The community is also positioned along the edge of the Mississippi hospital district, providing close proximity to major employers including the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), St. Dominic Hospital, and the VA Medical Center. UMMC alone employs approximately 10,000 individuals, with more than 20,000 healthcare professionals working in the surrounding area.

The site is uniquely integrated into the fabric of Fondren, wrapping around the rear of newly developed retail and entertainment destinations such as Highball Lanes, Little Tokyo Sushi, Campbell’s Bakery, the Capri Theatre, and The Station, a live music venue with an outdoor concert lawn just steps from the community.

The community will feature 234 apartment homes across a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, with an average unit size of 977 square feet. Total development will span approximately 293,797 square feet, with initial unit deliveries anticipated in Fall 2027.

Residents will have access to a thoughtfully curated amenity package designed to support both lifestyle and convenience, including a saltwater pool, outdoor lounge areas with pavilions and grilling stations, a fully equipped fitness center, a game room, and a coworking lounge. The community will also offer pet-friendly amenities.

Each apartment home will feature modern finishes, including shaker-style cabinetry, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances with side-by-side refrigerators, luxury wood-style flooring throughout, walk-in closets, and high-end lighting and plumbing fixtures.

Parking for the community will be supported by a newly constructed parking deck owned by Hinds County, which will be directly connected to the property for convenient resident access.
