Our commitment as a Pacesetter company began when United Way of Central Alabama rolled out its first Pacesetter initiative.

As that initiative has grown, so has our commitment to serving the needs of the broader communities where we operate. We strive to work with United Way by being a loyal and supportive corporate citizens, giving back to the cities and locales where our employees further their careers, develop friendships, start and raise families and advance their lives.

We are honored to serve as a member of The United Way of Central Alabama’s 2021 Pacesetter Campaign: Give Hope. Change Lives.

The Pacesetter Campaign has long been considered “an energy shot” or the campaign before the campaign. It is compromised of a select group of companies who have demonstrated dedication to the success of the mission and fundraising efforts for the UW organization.

Like Arlington, United Way of Central Alabama has a rich history of helping our neighborhoods and communities.

Its legacy began in 1923 with 31 agencies as a cooperative action to address Birmingham’s human services problems. Today, United Way of Central Alabama’s impact has grown to over 80 programs and a fundraising impact of more than $38 million.

Throughout its history, the United Way has not changed its basic mission—to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another and to improve their communities.

“As individuals, we can only accomplish so much. But by working together as a community, we can make great things happen,” said Arlington’s president, Jim Dixon. “That’s what community is all about. Neighbors helping neighbors. This philosophy is part of our core commitment of integrity uncompromised— and it’s how we strive to do business and participate in meaningful ways in each community where we operate.”

Our Arlington family knows that when we give, we are helping drive real, measurable change. Giving to the United Way is powerful because our gifts are combined with gifts from hundreds of others to invest in the best work, happening at the strongest organizations who are achieving the greatest results. That’s how change happens.
