Velma Small, Arlington Properties, Inc., New Director of Human Resources
Arlington Properties, Inc., today announced that Velma Small has accepted the position of Director of Human Resources for Arlington Properties, Inc. Ms. Small, leaves her post at the YMCA, where she was Senior Vice President of Leadership Development. She assumes the new role from Reba Doyle, Arlington’s HR director for over 13 years. Doyle will begin a new assignment as Special Projects Coordinator in Arlington’s property management division.

Small is a native of Blytheville, Ark. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas State University, graduating with a degree in Social Work. Small continued her education at Birmingham-Southern College earning a Master of Arts degree in Public and Private Management. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources Management. Her professional career spans several industries to include the U.S. Army, Federal Department of Defense, Higher Education and the Non-Profit sectors. She is a graduate of the 2009 Leadership Birmingham Class and was honored as a 2011 Birmingham Better Business Journal Executive of the Year finalist.
