William C. Hulsey
William “Billy” C. Hulsey is the former CEO and current chairman of Arlington Properties, Inc. (API) and Arlington Construction Services (ACS). He continues to lead the company’s management team with the same careful and well-structured business acumen that has seen Arlington grow from its founding in 1969.
Career Experience & Accomplishments
Billy joined Arlington Properties in December 1976. The company, which was founded in 1969, began as a small construction firm specializing in multifamily and commercial properties and has since transformed into a vibrant and diverse company while under Hulsey’s leadership. API is now a leading construction, real estate development and property management firm specializing in multifamily and mixed-use properties with a footprint across the U.S. In addition, Billy served on the board of directors for South Trust Corporation, Allied Products Company and All Seasons Travel, Inc.
Billy attended Kentucky Military Institute and then received his Bachelors of Science in business administration from the University of Alabama. He also holds an honorary doctorate of law from Birmingham-Southern College.
William is currently a member of the University of Alabama’s National Advisory Board and President’s Cabinet, and he was inducted into the Culverhouse 2015 Alabama Business Hall of Fame. He is a former member of Birmingham-Southern College’s board of trustees where he served as its vice chairman. In addition, he has served as chairman of the Birmingham Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Eye Foundation Hospital, Inc. William was president of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the Civic Foundation Club, Inc. He is a past member of the board of trustees for the Birmingham Symphony Association, board of trustees for the Birmingham Children’s Theatre and the Birmingham Area Board of Governors of the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
